Shannon Garson
Shannon Garson is an Australian ceramic artist, writer and curator with a studio practice spanning 20 years that includes commissions for festivals, exhibitions at public and private galleries, and arts advocacy. Shannon began her creative life as a painter and this is evident in the intricate drawings that move across the surface of her thrown porcelain vessels. Shannon also works across a range of media using drawing, ceramics , photography and performance to investigate the relationship between human activity and the infinite variety of striations, spots, and marks found in nature.
My work
I have two parallel practices, I’m a contemporary artist and exhibit widely in Australia and abroad with recent solo exhibitions at the Noosa Regional Gallery, the Redlands Art Gallery, and recent touring exhibitions including SIXTY: The Journal of Australian Ceramics 60th Anniversary with the Australian Design Centre. I also make tableware and have work available at the Museum of Brisbane, The Powerhouse Shop, Beaver Galleries Store and online.
